Relationships—with a lover, spouse, parent, child, or closest friend—are usually not as ideal and carefree as the above picture implies!  Sure, there are aspects in other's personalities that we love and admire, but there are also qualities we don't like or orientations that we don't understand.

     Comparing the charts of two individuals helps us to objectively understand both the instinctual attractions that magnetically draw us together as well as the troubling dynamics that tend to push us apart.  On the one hand, they show the areas where there is an easy and relaxed flow, where our values are similar, and we feel supported or enhanced by being together.  On the other hand, chart comparisons also show the areas where we clash, where our different orientations or ways of experiencing life are seemingly at odds.  However, through identifying the more troubling aspects we have a much better chance of coordinating our needs and maturing our empathy!
